How to hang a picture.... |
1) Choose the size of your picture carefully. In other words, try not to
hang a small picture on a large wall. It will look lost. On the other
hand, don't put a large picture onto a small wall. It will make
your room look crowded and smaller than it actually is.
2) Hang heavy objects on a stud. If you try to hang a heavy picture
directly on drywall, it will have an excellent chance of falling,
tearing a huge chunk out of the wall and falling on
someone's head.
3) Choose an appropriate hook. You may want a two-piece nail & hook,
a hollow wall anchor or just a plain old nail pounded into
a stud (Clint's preferred method).
4) Hang your picture and straighten it.
Here are some hanging options...
You can sometimes hang a really light picture from a push-pin stuck
into the wall.
Light pictures can also be hung from hooks that are attached to adhesive
(the adhesive sticks to the wall and holds your picture).
